Summer is when I bring out my pinks and corals to brighten up my everyday face. Although I do prefer wearing reds, I do love how a coral can make me look more tanned. So here are my three favourite summer lipsticks.
Mac- Costa Chic
The ultimate coral with a frost finish. It looks gorgeous with tanned skin as it is an orange toned coral. It's a fun colour to play with but it's not a moisturising as the lustre or cremesheen formulas. It has a tendency to dry up my lips and sit in cracks so a little prep is necessary; just a coat of vaseline will do the trick. Less is more with this lipstick- the more you apply, the brighter it feels therefore the harder to pull off it becomes.
Right- Costa Chic
Middle- Fuchsia Flash
Left- Strawberry Shortcake
Maybelline- Fuchsia Flash 902
I have previously written a review about another one of Maybelline's colour sensational lipsticks, however on my way to the airport I realised I had packed no lipsticks. I don't think my boyfriend understood what a nightmare that meant for me (I'm sure you beauty bloggers would!), so we stopped in Boots (sigh of relief) and I choose 3 new lipsticks and this was one. The colour is a fun, bright fuchsia which actually comes out great in photos. The staying power is brilliant and it does remind me a little of Macs Candy Yum Yum (could actually be a dupe) however this is a little more moisturising then that. It is electric with blue undertones and really stands out. It's creamy and extremely comfortable to wear.
Top- Costa Chic
Middle- Fuchsia Flash
Bottom- Strawberry Shortcake
Revlon- Strawberry Shortcake 80
I have had this bad boy for about two years now and I still use it. It's a lip butter, which means moisturising, shines like a lipgloss and are pigmented like a lipstick. It is a true pink with no shimmer. It creates the perfect subtle pink lip without being too in your face. It is easy to wear and lasts about 2-3 hours- perfect for every day.
If you have any other favourite colours to wear, please let me know! (Warning- I will buy most of them).
