For the last two years, I have applied 'they're real!' by Benefit to my eyelashes, and that alone. I popped into Boots last week to purchase another one as I misplaced mine (boo hoo!) only to find it is now priced at £19.50! That could be a whole weeks worth of food or a new pair of gym leggings, so sadly I have to save my favourite for when I have a bit of extra cash.
So I picked up this mascara on a total whim, without reading any reviews, which is a total crazy thing for a beauty blogger to do. I have tried another L'Oreal mascara before and it was very good, but in the end I decided to go with their Volume Million Lashes Mascara because of it's stylish gold packaging and the £10.99 price tag (almost half of my Benefit one).
I've been using it for about a week now and although it isn't AS good as Benefits, it does come very close behind. I picked up the 'black one, which is very dark, how can you go 'extra black? The plastic brush is great as I feel I can really comb through my lashes, making sure I've applied it all evenly. It's not to big either, so I can get to the little corner lashes and the bottom ones. The opening is tighter, which removes a lot of the excess product on so I don't waste any or make my lashes clumpy, so I can build up my coats rather then having spider-lashes.
After applying two coats, this is the outcome. It's light and feathery, if I was going out or wanted to emphasise my eyes a little more, you can build up for a more dramatic look. Despite not being waterproof, I have never had a problem when I'm sweating in the gym and have mascara on, it never runs down to say hello to my cheeks! It's also easy to remove, which is a bit hurray from me when it comes to a mascara.
Please let me know what your favourite mascara is!
