Mascara is the one beauty product I look forward to trying out the most. I find you can really tell whether the product has worked on your lashes, especially if you take before and after photos. When the lovely Nicky from Shout Sales and Marketing sent me over a mascara from PHB Ethical Beauty, I got a little excited as the brand is know for being natural and organic. Plus it's handmade in the UK.
I received the All In One Natural Mascara* (£15.95). The packaging is elegant and simple. It reminds me of the Clinique mascara packaging, as it also comes in a neat box with all the details on it;
"All In One Natural Mascara- Lengthens, thickens and volumes lashes with a gentle formula that lasts all day without smudging or flaking". Is this true? I put it to the test.
Simply applying one coat is enough and I was surprised at this. Not because I was expecting anything less, but I was not expecting it to be this good. It'll hopefully last me a long time. The comb is pretty standard, no fancy bristles, which I like. Nice and simple. The finish was natural, yet they look so much longer and thicker. I had the colour black, which you can tell but I don't think my lashes look spidery at all.
The mascara has received awards from Cosmo, Vogue and The Green Parent, so I should've known it'd be a good one. But what really catches peoples eyes is the natural aspect of this product. The mascara is made from natural ingredients and is Certified Vegan, Cruelty free and Halal free from talc, paragons, bismuth fragrancem mineral oils, fillers & GM ingredients. Now I don't know what the latter half are, but if you are allergic to any of these, I would highly recommend this mascara. You only have to look at the effect one coat had on my lashes to convince yourself.
If a mascara smells, it puts me right off. It makes me wonder if it's even in date. This one doesn't smell. The only negative thing I would say is it isn't particularly water resistant, as it states to be. Only because I laughed so much the other night, I was crying and it did wipe off into my finger tips but it didn't smudge all under my eyes, which is fab.
After reading my review, would you consider this mascara as your next purchase? Or do you have a holy grail that you always stick too?
