I am a big green tea fan. Any flavour of herbal tea (except peppermint- yuck) I'd be willing to try. When YUMI
got in contact with me asking if I'd try there new matcha green tea brand- Yumi Matcha*, I couldn't wait for the little parcel to come through my letterbox.
Matcha is a shade grown green tea powder that has been drunk for centuries in Asia (look at me being all multi-cutural). There are so many benefits to drinking green tea, I really do urge you to drink one cup a day. It improves your metabolism, causing you to burn calories quicker and loose weight faster- who would say no to that? It also helps your skin. Matcha is an antioxidant powerhouse, helping you reduce the signs of ageing and keeps your skin looking young and healthy (again, young and healthy skin? Holla!).
It's a powder, you just need to add half a teaspoon to some hot water and bam, there are all your benefits. It was super easy to do and dissolved within seconds. Yes, the colour is the colour of that water in your back garden thats been sitting in a bucket for months, but I promise it doesn't taste like that. I think it looks rather funky. It tastes delicious, a refreshing green-tea taste. Like other green teas, I find it doesn't leave a nasty leafy after-taste.
The packaging is not a huge metal box, so it slips into my cupboard easily. It is also resealable so I can use it whenever I like. One serving of matcha has the nutritional benefits of up to 10 cups of regular green tea! You can purchase different sizes of the matcha here.
I'm looking forward to adding this to a smoothie for some extra benefits or to hot water and milk, or I may create a latte with this (I've just seen Tanya Burr have a matcha latte on snapchat!), or even add to cakes. What's your favourite green tea?
