Recently, dry skin has really been getting on my nerves. When I'm trying to do a 'flawless' makeup look, it isn't flawless because I have flakes of dry skin all over my nose. Sexy right? Before I bought these two products, I scrubbed my face daily with facial scrub but after doing a bit of research, I realised this was the wrong thing to do as too much scrubbing can reduce the natural oils making my skin even more dry. So I decided to release myself from my spending ban (saving up for a holiday is at the top of my list) for a little dry skin tlc. I popped into Boots knowing the 3-4-2 skincare offer was on (perfect timing Boots) and I picked up the L'Oreal Triple Active Nourish 24hr Hydrating Moisturiser and the Nivea Daily Essentials Rich Regenerating Night Cream for dry and sensitive skin (I needed all the hydration people).
L'Oreal Triple Active Nourish 24hr Hydrating Moisturiser £6.49
I use this after I've washed my face in the morning before I apply my makeup. I'm 110% sure my Grandma uses this as it smells like her (not the usual old people smell, a pretty normal moisturiser smell I promise). This product is brilliant for the amount you're spending. It does give my Clinique moisturiser a run for it's money. It's rather thick so you do have to let it soak in for a while, but it becomes an excellent base for your daily makeup, even without a primer (oops- don't tell the makeup police). As for the 24 hour claim, I'm can't comment, because I do cover the product with makeup, but the finish is excellent and I am able to get my 'flawless' makeup look.
Nivea Daily Essentials Rich Regenerating Night Cream £4.19
This stuff is so thick, I love it. I feel like it's just what I need when it comes to a night cream as I want my skin to suck it all up and get nice and hydrated from it. It smells like the usual Nivea smell. In the morning, the result is brilliant, it's so hydrated, my skin and neck are shiny. This cream will last me for so long, I've hardly put a dent into it. In general, my skin feels a lot less dull than before and feels so soft in the morning.
I have been using both these products for over a month now and I am happy to say farewell to my flakey nose. If you have dry skin, I highly recommend these products.
