Body balms/ butters/ moisturisers have always been something I buy and use up quickly. The Soap and Glory body butter has been a firm favourite for a while so it was a nice change to try something new. A few weeks ago I was sent a Body Balm from Roger & Gallet. They recently took their three best selling scents and cleverly made them into body balms; Fleur d'Osmanthus, Fleur de Figuier and Rose. They are made to nourish the skin while giving it a gentle scent. I was given the body balm in Fleur de Figuier* (£17) to try out and I've been testing it for the last month.

The Fleur de Figuier scent is described as 'shea butter, precious flower oil and distilled extracts of fig bud' and it's aimed at dry to very dry skin. When I opened it I was greeted with a thick, heavy cream, which I love for all over my skin. I feel thicker balms really sink into the skin. I've been applying this every morning. The smell isn't too overpowering and on the other hand, it doesn't fade after an hour. I've never gone for a  'fig' scent, but I would really recommend it. It's fresh (so it wakes me up) and it smells, almost French!

The hyaluronic acid in the balm helps the skin hold on to the moisture and the good news is that its paraben-free! It is the most luxurious feeling body balm I have tried and isn't too expensive. The tin may have something to do with it. It's not a cheap, plastic tub, it's a metal tin. Which I may keep after I've emptied it and keep those wretched bobby pins in.

This beautiful body balm is currently on offer at M&S here for £13.60.
