Ah highlighters, the beauty favourite of the time that create luminosity, radiance and a touch of instant glamour to any makeup look. In the last few months, I have added a few more highlighters to my collection both drugstore and high end.
The beauty lovers old favourite, Soft & Gentle is a peach metallic that I only use on my cheeks and also under my brows (especially if I don't have any eyeshadow spare) to highlight. This has lasted me about two years, however I do think this product needs reapplying if you're out all day.
As you may be able to tell from the ancient packaging, I have had this for a while. It is also a dupe for a high end product (watch this space). It can be used as a bronzer, however I feel like it works much better as a highlighter.
This product is beautiful and underrated. I have to say the bronzer isn't my favourite, it's very sparkly and I wouldn't use it as a bronzer. It's great for the summer and looks very natural, I use it daily.
Being one of the two cream highlighters I own, the Topshop pot is perfect for above the cupids bow and on the cheeks. I find powder highlighters stick to this so it's great especially for nights out. You cannot fault the price of this little dream, just a shame it's sold out online! Topshop get some more in.
Don't let the nail polish bottle fool you, this pinky-coloured highlighter is gorgeous. It's not glittery so if you don't dig the glitter highlight his is perfect. Gently dotted around where you like, it can be easily blended around.
Kiko Shimmer | £10?
Now I bought this from Kiko in Ibiza a few years ago. It is a highly pigmented gold shimmer that I actually apply on my body. It gives a great glow to my chest and arms on holiday. Apologies I cannot find it on the website, they must've discontinued it!
I tend to use the Speedy highlighter when I am not wearing any other heavy makeup. It gives a lovely natural neutral colour that just gives a subtle glow. This may be because it is a cheaper product, but it is brilliant when I don't have any tan on (perfect for us pale skinned people). However, I've found it shifts my foundation and can leave streaks. Works well with a beauty blender.
This is the newest highlighter to my collection and did not disappoint me. It seems to suit a lot of skin tones and is a gold, glittery highlight. I am not surprised this highlighter has such a buzz around it.
One of three colours, this highlighter is very pinky and glittery and therefore very pigmented. A little goes a long way so if you're looking for a new highlighter on a budget, go for this one. It is affordable and I will definitely look out for the other two shades.
Phew, so there we have my highlighter collection, do you have any of these or fancy on now?
