Face masks are something that I lack in my skincare collection and more often than not miss out in my skincare routine. A few weeks ago, I was in Boots debating whether to get the black L'Oreal face mask, the one that every beauty blogger seems to be raving about. But I decided not to get it in the end because I just wouldn't use it. However, after receiving the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Treatment Mask* (£21.99), I thought I might as well give it a go.
How have I survived without a cleansing and hydrating mask? Is the question I have been asking myself the past three weeks since I've been using this dreamy product. Yes, I love it! It is describes as an "intensely moisturising, cleansing and anti oxidising treatment". That basically describes me, especially during my time of the month. Spots and blemishes begone!
So I smoother a thick layer of this luscious face mask all over my face twice a week and leave on for 15-20 minutes (however long it takes me to read a section of Glamour). The consistency is thin and creamy, but clear, because it is honey based, so you can really see where you're applying it. It tingles slightly which is apparently 100% normal. I then rinse off with warm water in the shower- easy peasy.
Hydration? Check! Once removed, my skin feels as smooth as it probably did when I was a baby. I have forever had problems with a dry nose with it being flaky but using this face mask twice a week has really helped reduce dryness. I do not suffer with many spots and blemishes, but I know I break out after using my Estee Lauder foundation, so I applied it after I'd taken that off and it totally worked!
It smells like honey, vanilla and mandarin and it is beautiful. It leaves my skin feeling tighter, less red and more hydrated. I can see this face mask being a firm fave in my skin care routine now. It's also perfect for a gift for someone. Well done Antipodes!
